About the Organic Parliamentary Reception
The Organic Reception offers an unmatched opportunity to network with key industry members in an intimate setting. COTA has organized this event for the past seven years, and opens it up to members and by invitation only.
What happened in 2018
Following the Policy Conference, we held our Organic Parliamentary Reception on Parliament Hill in Centre Block. The reception was hosted by Senator Diane Griffin (Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture & Forestry) and had over 80 Parliamentarians and political staffers in attendance. Senator Griffin shared a few words, along with opening remarks provided by the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay (Minister of Agriculture & Agri-Food) and MP Fat Finnigan (Chair of the Standing Committee on Agriculture & Agri-Food) outlining how much progress we have achieved together in advancing organic production and trade in Canada, and their commitment to continue working with us to advance the sector's priorities.
