The Advocacy Fund supports COTA’s key advocacy initiatives.  Your contribution when combined with others creates a meaningful impact and helps build a strong future for organic.

On behalf of our membership, the Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA) promotes and protects organic production, processing, and trade through strategic legislative and regulatory advocacy. We provide expert analysis of agriculture, food, health, and trade policy, and guide our members through Canada’s evolving regulatory landscape. COTA builds trusted relationships with Parliamentarians, senior policy advisors, and regulatory agencies including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). We seek funding to expand our capacity to:

  • Influence national policy frameworks that support the growth of organic.
  • Strengthen Canada’s competitiveness in the global organic market.
  • Ensure regulatory clarity and consistency for organic producers and processors.
  • Mobilize public awareness and stakeholder engagement around organic standards and sustainability.
