On February 24, the Canadian Fair Trade Network is set to speak at the 5th Annual Fair Trade Conference, taking place February 24-26 in Halifax. Its session on Fair Trade, Organic Agriculture and Climate Change will explore some of the natural affinities between fair trade and organic agriculture movements to confront climate change, share information about new developments and valuable insights, and propose some possible next steps and collaborative project work. Speakers Monika Firl of Cooperative Coffees, John Young of FairTrade Canada, and Dr. Andrew Hammermeister of Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada will discuss potential partnerships among certifiers, grassroots organizers and advocates and the full spectrum of stakeholders across each of their network.
