On behalf of our membership, COTA promotes and protects organic production and trade through legislative and regulatory advocacy. We provide expert analysis of agriculture, food, health, and trade policy, while helping our members navigate the regulatory environment. COTA builds meaningful relationships with Parliamentarians and their staff, and works closely with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The State of Organics
In July 2017, COTA released the first State of Organics: Federal-Provincial-Territorial Performance Report. This report analyzes and tracks the existing organic regulations, policies, and programming within the federal, provincial, and territorial (FPT) governments. As the first report of its kind, the State of Organics report is a benchmark, demonstrating the current state of affairs and aims to foster greater government support of the organic sector in Canada.
We've just released our fifth The State of Organics Report with important updates from our benchmark study.
